In 1977 the first feature length animated film of Winnie The Pooh was released by Walt Disney. All the main characters are present, namely Winnie the Pooh, Kanga, Owl, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet.

In 1831 the sea carried away a sandbank on the Isle of Lewis, uncovering a mysterious building. A peasant nearby found what he concluded to be a collection of Elves and Gnomes. There were 78 pieces in all; 67 of which are in the British Museum. Experts are unanimous in regarding them as 'the most astonishing collection of chessmen in existence.
